JEE MAINS 2016 Exam notification and dates

JEE Main 2016, the third Joint Entrance Examination(Main) will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) under the ministry of human resource development, GOI. The JEE Main 2016 will be conducted the JEE Apex Board for admission to undergraduate Engineering Programs in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions etc. 

For admission to NITs, Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) like IIITs etc. and other participating Institutions, the merit/rank list shall be prepared based on 40% weightage to school Boards marks in class 12th or equivalent examination and 60% weightage to JEE (Main). The weightage to school Board/Equivalent examination marks shall be considered only after normalization

The following states have joined the JEE (Mains ) system.  So the candidates seeking admission to the institutions in these states are advised to fill the JEE ( Main ) 2016 application form online.
Gujarath, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarkhand, Nagaland and Odisha.

The JEE Main exam is also an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced) which is to be taken by candidates seeking admission to undergraduate courses offered by IITs / ISM Dhanbad.

Note: Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will only be considered
B. Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE)
Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2014 or 2015: or those who are appearing the their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2015 are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) - 2016
Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2013 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2016 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2016
The candidates who appeared in class 12th/equivalent qualifying Examinations in 2013, did not pass in 2013, but passed in 2014 are also not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2016
The candidates willing to appear for improvement examination of class 12th in 2016 have to appear in all the 4/5 subjects as per the scheme of study of the concerned board
Further, they may also note that in the percentile system, the total marks (of all five subjects) obtained/shown on the mark-sheet of a particular year are required in JEE (Main) and also in JEE (Advanced)
The marks from two different years (i.e. marks for 3 subjects from year 2015 and marks for other 2 subjects from 2016) mark-sheets cannot be considered for percentile calculation
Number of attempts :  The number of attempts to appear for JEE Mains is limited to 3 ( three ).

Number of Attempts and Age Limit for the States of Maharashtra and Odisha
Since the States of Maharashtra and Odisha have joined JEE (Main) system. The age limit; for admission to institutions in these states which where earlier admitting candidates based on their State level examinations, will be as per their past practice only
The number of attempts in such cases will also remain same as per their past practice. This will, however, be obviously not applicable for admission to IITs/NITs/IITs/CFTIs

Online Application Form Submission

Online application has to be submitted through JEE (Main) 2016 website www.jeemain.nic.in
The aspiring candidates should furnish all the details and upload scanned image of his/her photograph, signature and upload scanned image of his/her photograph, signature and left hand thumb impression while filling up the “Online” Application
Candidates are required to take print out of the computer generated acknowledgement slip after successful submission of data and payment of fee and keep the same in the safe custody for any future reference
Important Note: The entire application process is online, including uploading of photograph and signature and payment of fee the candidates are required NOT to send any document to JEE (Main) Secretarial
Seven (7) Steps to be followed to apply online
Step 1: Download the information bulletin and read it carefully to ensure your eligibility
Step 2: Read the contents of Online Format and instructions for applying online given in the Information Bulletin and keep the entire Information ready
Step 3: Keep the Scanned Images of your Photograph, Signature and Left Hand Thumb Impression ready in JPG format only
Step 4: Fill in the Online Application Form
Step 5: Upload Scanned Images of Photograph, Signature and Left Hand Thumb Impression
Step 6: Pay Examination Fee by Debit/Credit card or e-challan (generated after submission of details in online application form)
Step 7: Download Acknowledgement Slip and keep the same in safe custody for future reference
Note: The candidates should mention only his/her own Mobile No. and E-Mail ID while submitting the On-Line Application, as all the communications will be sent to the candidates on their registered Mobile Number and E-Mail ID only

JEE MAIN 2016: Application, Exam pattern and eligibility

The JEE Main 2016 is a national level entrance examination for admission to Engineering and technical courses offered by various Government, Private and funded institutions including the NITs and IIITs.  The JEE is a two tier exam.  The first stage is JEE Main which is a gateway to B.Tech courses offered by institutes including NITs and IIITs.  The candidate qualified in JEE Main is eligible for JEE Advanced 2016 which is gateway for admission to IITs.

As per the last year details the states as Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Nagaland & Odisha had participated in JEE Exam. The students seeking the admission in these states are advised to fill the JEE Main 2016 application form through online. These states were earlier admitting on the basis of state level entrance test.

Application Form

Before the application the candidates are suggested to get the Information Bulletin from the official site of the board and read carefully. The JEE Main application form 2016 will be available online only through the official website of the JEE Apex Board in the first week of November 2015. There is no other mode for applying except the online mode. The last date of the application will be on last week of December 2015.

There are two papers in JEE (Main) – 2015  -  Paper-1 (B.E./B. Tech.) and Paper-2(B. Arch./ B. Planning). Depending upon on the course (s) candidates are seeking admission, may take Paper- 1 B.E./B. JEE MAIN 2015 EXAM SCHEDULE

Admissions to undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded technical institutions, institutes funded state governments, and other institutes shall be done by the performance in Class 12 or equivalent examination and also the performance in the Joint Entrance Examination ( JEE Main 2015).  The Paper-1 (B.E / B.Tech)  of JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced) which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring to the under graduate programmes offered by IITs.  


The States of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarkhand and Odisha have joined JEE (Main) system.  So the candidates seeking admissions to the institutions in these states, which were earlier admitted based on their State level examination are also advised to fill in the JEE (Main) - 2015 application form online.  The last date for applying was over on 18th December, 2014.   We are giving the detailed JEE (Main ) - 2015 exam schedule and the syllabus here.

Note:   The candidates choosing the cities Colombo/Kathmandu/Singapore will appear for Paper – 1 in Computer Based Examination only on 11/04/2015. In the cities Bahrain, Dubai, Muscat, Riyadh and Sharjah Paper – 1 will be conducted in both the modes, however, the candidates choosing the mode of Computer Based Examination for Paper – 1 will appear for Examination only on 11/04/2015. The Paper – 2 in all these cities will be conducted on 04/04/2015 from 2.00–5.00 PM (IST) in Pen & Paper Based examination. 









JEE MAIN 2015 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2015 defines the qualification, age limit and the number of attempts allowed to appear for JEE Main 2015 exam.  The admission to IITs and other top engineering colleges depends on the passing out year of the student.  The eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2015 is listed below.

Qualifying Examination for JEE Main 2015 and pass percentage

  • A student must have studied Maths, Physics and Chemistry as the main subjects compulsorily in the Class XII.
  • Candidate must have studied any one of the subjects as optional subjects - Biology, Computer Science or Bio-Technology
  • Minimum percentage to be secured by the candidate in Class XII board exam is 50% in total in Physics, Maths and Chemistry. 

Passing year of the Qualifying Examination

  • The JEE Main 2015 aspirants must have qualified their Class XII or other equivalent examination in the year 2013 or 2014 or students who are appearing in 2015
  • Students must have studied at least 5 subjects in their qualifying examination
  • Students who have just studied 4 subjects are not eligible for JEE  Main 2015
  • Candidates who appeared for Class XII exam in 2012 or before as well as those will appear in 2016 are not eligible for JEE Main 2015
  • Students who appeared for Class XII exam in 2012 and did not clear the test, but qualified in 2013 are not eligible for JEE Main 2015.
  • The candidates willing to appear for improvement exam of class XII in 2015 have to appear in all the 5 subjects as per the scheme of study of concerned board
  • Students should note that in the percentile system, the total marks ( of the 5 subjects) obtained / shown in the mark sheet of a particular year are required in JEE Main as well as in JEE Advanced.  The marks from two different years ( i.e. marks for 3 subjects in 2014 and marks for other 2 subjects from 2015 ) can not be considered for percentile calculation.

Please note that the eligibility for JEE Main 2015 will be defined as per the year in which the candidate who appeared for 12th Class examination.  For example, student who appeared for 12th Class exam in 2010 and did not qualify, but qualified the same in 2011, he/she may not be eligible. 
 

Number of attempts allowed for JEE Main 2015 examination

A maximum of 3 attempts are allowed for each student writing JEE Main 2015 examination. No more than 3 attempts are allowed.

Telengana State EAMCET 2015 notification on 25th February, 2015

The EAMCET 2015 Notification for the Telengana State is going to be released on 25th February, 2015.   This is the first time the new Telengana State is conducting the EAMCET examination on its own after the formation of the State in 2014.  

Around 1.8 lakhs  students from Telengana and about 70,000 students from Andhra Pradesh are expected appear for the Telengana EAMCET ( Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test )  - 2015 which is to be conducted by Government of Telengana.   The Andhra Pradesh students may have to write the examination in Hyderabad only.   There are no exam centers in Andhra Pradesh.   But Telengana EAMCET 2015 convener, N.V.Ramana Rao told reporters that they would consider positively if AP Government requests exam centers in their State for the covenience of AP students.  

The admissions will be held in the existing system with 15% unreserved seats open to AP students.  There will be no change in the pattern and scheme of the Telengana EAMCET 2015 examination.  It would remain same as last year.  

The notification for Telengana EAMCET 2015 will be issued on 25th February, 2015 and the examination will be conducted on 14th May, 2015.  The results would be declared on 28th May, 2015.  The applications have to be submitted only online and the website would be open from 28th February,m 2015.   Here are some important dates for Telengana EAMCET 2015.

  • Last date for submission with fine of Rs. 10,000 - 12th May, 2015
Hall tickets can be downloaded from 8th May, 2015 to 12th May, 2015.   The Engineering test would be conducted from 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM.  Medical test would be conducted from 02:30 PM to 05:30 PM.  The examination fee would be Rs. 250.

UPSE announces final results of Assistant Engineer ( Grade-I) - 2014

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the final result for Assistant Engineer (Grade - I) Posts in the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Ministry of Mines. Candidates selected on the basis of Computer Based Recruitment Test held on 29 June 2014 followed by the Interview which was conducted from 29 September 2014 to 01 October 2014 and the final result was declared on 31 October 2014. 

Totally 12 candidates are qualified for the post of Assistant Engineer ( Grade-I). 4 candidates are kept in waiting list.  The list of of provisionally selected candidates for the post of Assistant Engineer in Geological Survey of India are given in the link given below.

Maharashtra HSC Exam Results - October, 2014

Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Examinations has declared the HSC Examination Results on 25th November, 2014.  The HSC Examinations were conducted in the month of September - October, 2014.  The HSC exam was conducted between 26th SEptember, 2014 and 11th Ocgtober, 2014.  The students who wrote the HSC examinations in Sept - October 2014 can their results in the official website of the board.  The link is : http://mahresult.nic.in/.
