UGC NET outsourced - CBSE will take over the conduct of NET examination

Till now the National Eligibility Test ( NET )  was being conducted by University Grants Commission (UGC).  Now it is going to change.  UGC has reached consensus to oursource the prestigious NET examination which will be conducted now by CBSE.  The UGC on 22nd July, 2014 came out with a decision to outsource the National Eligibility Test (NET) which is normally conducted twice a year for University level teaching and Junior Research Fellowship.

The decision to outsource the NET exam to CBSE was taken because UGC was not fully equipped to conduct the examination on national level.   If everything goes as planned, there is a huge probability that the upcoming December, 2014 NET examination will be conducted by CBSE.

CBSE is already conducting the AIEEE ( All India Engineering Entrance Examination ) and also All India Pre-Medical Test ( AIPMT) in the past and has all the infra structure to deal with nation wide examinations.  UGC will share its resource persons with CBSE in order to set the question papers in 80 subjects.  This is the first time CBSE is conducting examinations for post graduate students.  CBSE has been conducting the papers only for secondary and school leaving students till now.

The University Grants Commission holds the National Eligibility Test (NET) twice each year for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian universities and colleges.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination which tests the comprehensive understanding of the candidate in various undergraduate subjects in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and post-graduate level subjects in Science. The GATE score of a candidate reflects a relative performance level in a particular subject in the exam across several years. The score is used for admissions to post-graduate programs (e.g., M.E., M.Tech, direct Ph.D.) in Indian institutes of higher education with financial assistance provided by MHRD and other Government agencies. 

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology ( IITs at Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur and Roorkee) are jointly administering the conduct of GATE examination.   The operations related to GATE in each of the 8 zones are managed by a zonal GATE Office at the IITs or IISc. The Organizing Institute (OI) is responsible for the end-to-end process and coordination amongst the administering Institutes. The Organizing Institute for GATE 2015 is IIT Kanpur.  

The GATE 2015 exams will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays between 31st January, 2015 to 14th FEbruary, 2015.  The examination schedule  for different streams will be notified later on in GATE 2015 website.   

What is New in GATE 2015?

• Validity of GATE Scores has now been increased from 2 years to 3 years.
• All the applications have to be made online only and no hard copy is required.  So you need to submit the application online at GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) website. 
• The GATE 2015 exam fees payment are to be made through SBI I-Collect, Axis Bank I-Connect, e-challan facilities or debit cards / credit cards / net banking.

GATE 2015 Eligibility

The following categories of candidates are eligible to appear in GATE :

• Bachelor's degree holders in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Pharmacy (Post - Diploma / Post-B.Sc / 4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final year of such programs.
• Candidates in the final year of the Four-year Bachelor's degree program in science (B.S.) (Post-Diploma/4 years after 10+2).
• Master's degree holders in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final year of such programs.
• Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four year Integrated Master's degree program or (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering / Technology.
• Candidates in the fourth or higher year of Five year Integrated Master's degree program or Dual Degree program in Engineering / Technology.
• Candidates who are in the final year of the Five-year integrated M.Sc. or Five year integrated B.S. - M.S. Program.
• Candidates with qualification obtained through examination conducted by professional AMIE by IE (I), AMICE (I) by ICE (I) as equivalent to B.E/B.Tech. Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.

Canara Bank - Results of Manager Technial ( MMG Scale II )

Canara Bank has conducted examination for the post of Manager Technical ( MMG II scale).  The bank has announced the list of provisionally selected candidates for the post of Manager Technical ( MMG II scale ). 

The provisionally selected candidates have to produce the original copies of all the documents to prove their eligibility with regard to age, educational qualifications, experience etc..   The candidates who fail to submit the required original documents will not be allowed to join the bank.

AP Grameena Vikas Bank - Results of Office Assistants Exam

The Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank head office at Warangal has conducted Examination for recruitment of Office Assistants on 28th, 29th September, 2013 and on 5th and 6th October, 2013.   The results of these examinations are announced recently by the AP grameena bank.  

The list of candidates shortlisted for interviews are sent by IBPS, Mumbai.   There are two boards for Office Assistants Interviews Board 'A' and 'B'.  The candidates should verify to which board they are identified for the interview and report accordingly.
